Prof. Xiaohong Li

Prof. Xiaohong Li is the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He served as the president of Chongqing University from 2003 to 2010, and was appointed as the president of Wuhan University in 2010. In 2017, he was appointed as the Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). Prof. Li's main interests are in the field of mining engineering and water jet technology, and he is one of the leaders in the field of mining engineering, his research work contributes to address the major safety problems of complex coal mines which are under serious threat of mine gas disasters.
Prof. Xiaohong Li won three National Science and Technology Progress Awards (2 in 2nd class and 1 in 3rd class), he also obtained four provincial-level Scientific and Technological Progress Awards and First Class Invention Award. Besides, he received two international academic awards and he is the owner of four patents for invention. He has published four books and over 170 papers.
